Slot Machine Lingo

What is a jackpot?

The jackpot is the amount of money or credit that you can win when playing this slot machine. Sometimes in casinos offline, and online, you can win small money, large money, houses, cars, jewelry, furs, anything valuable is given away!

How do you hit the jackpot?

Each slot machine is going to be different and the payout box will tell you what you have to have to win the jackpot but often it is three of a special marking in the screen on the same row, all nine areas covered with the same symbol or anything other that the casino marks as a ‘special’ jackpot win.

What should I be aware of?

When a machine says that they pay out up to 95% - means that it doesn’t pay out 95% all the time, it can pay out fifty percent, sixty percent, and so on. But if a machine says that it pays out 95% then they do and these are the types of machines or online casinos that you should look for.

What else can I do while playing slots online?

Often you will be able to chat with other slots players while online playing the slots, simply by typing in the box and pressing send. This does not interrupt your game at all and you make great friends at the same time!

How do I know who is winning?

Often in online slots, there will be a message bar, where you will be able to see online who is winning and what amount the won. Usually you will not see their real name, only their online name and possibly the state or country that they are from when playing online.

What is the message last round mean?

This just tells you what you won with the last spin, and how much you won with the last spin. There is always going to be a total box, what you have left and a box telling you how much you are spending on this round as well.

What is a credit?

This can be a point if you are playing for fun, or this can represent nickels, dimes, quarter, dollars, five dollars, and any thing that the casino gives it reference too. Generally, you will find it written on the top or side of the machine when playing offline or on the top or side of your screen when you are playing slots online.

What is the balance?

This is how many credit, dollars, nickels or dimes etc, that you currently have in the slot machine. You should never walk away or quit a game while you still have a balance, if you need to quit playing make sure you cash out first.

General Options of the slot machine are:

Playing as Machine

Playing as Machine is a feature now offered in many slots. It offers you the unique option of playing the role of the machine. This option increases your chances of winning, since you gain some of the favorable odds reserved for the casino. At the end of every round, the casino takes a commission of 2% (usually) of the total bets bet against the machine.
