A slot machine is a gambling device,
played for money or for fun that uses
matches across multiple manners to provide
winning situations. All you have to do
is feed the machine money, tokens etc,
and press the bets, pull the lever and
you are on your way to have played your
first slotsgame.
The slot machine, the first slot
machine, was named the Liberty Bell.
This Liberty Bell was a mechanical
device, created in the last 1800’s
by Charles Fey. Charles Fey was a
mechanic and this was his little toy.
This first slot machine was used in
the hotel named Bugsy Siegels Flamingo
Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada.
The casino players loved this little
machine because it let you gamble
without thinking much about anything
at all, which is what having a bit
of fun was really all about!
The Liberty Bell has three different
spinning wheels inside of it and on
it where the symbols of heart, diamonds,
spades and even one cracked Liberty
Bell on each wheel. The biggest payoff
of all for this brand new slot was
when all three Liberty Bells where
in a line across themachine.
After the first slot machine was
built, casinos and hotels through
out Las Vegas wanted more and Charles
Fey had a very had time keeping up
on making the slot machines in his
home workshop. He had the sole manufacturing
rights to his invention at that time.
The slot machine is also referred to as the fruitmachine.
The slot machine is also referred to as the onearmed bandit to others.
Some of the original slot machines,
as they were called, were not even
gambling machines, they were actually
vending machines where the coins were
put in and goodies would come out
when paid for.
In the 1900’s the concept
of the slot machines from gambling,
and with a mixture of the vending
machine concept brought about fortune
machines, penny candy machines and
other small prize machines that were
found in super markets, train stations
and the like.
Electronic slot machines came about
around 1970 and through the years
have evolved even more with online
Internet capable slot machines thriving
and meeting the entertainment and
gambling world’s needs.
